How to Wash and Care for Printed Shirts

Start with your garment’s care label. Fabric and decoration vary, so a shirt, embroidered hat and printed bag should not automatically receive the same treatment.

A routine for printed shirts

For many direct-to-garment shirts, use a cold, gentle wash with mild detergent. Turn the garment inside out and wash with similar colors. Avoid scrubbing the printed area.

Use the label’s drying instructions. Hanging to dry or low heat is often preferable to a hot dryer. If ironing is permitted, work inside out at the allowed temperature and keep the iron off the design.

Printful’s product care instructions distinguish printed apparel, embroidery and other products. Choose guidance matching your item.

If a new garment has an unexpected mark or damaged print, photograph it before aggressive cleaning and contact Airplane Tees. Keep the item and packaging and review the current Return Policy.
